Job Summary
Manages and oversees the Medical Records and Orders team to ensure physician orders and clinical documentation are complete, accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory and payer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct oversight and management of the Medical Records and Orders team including daily operations, workload distribution, and performance monitoring.
- Trains, coaches, and evaluates Medical Records and Orders staff to ensure competency and accountability.
- Establishes productivity, quality, and turnaround time expectations and conducts routine performance reviews.
- Develops and maintains standardized workflows, tracking tools, and procedures for physician orders management and medical record completion.
- Maintains visibility into daily work queues and resolves escalated documentation or physician office issues.
- Collaborates with clinical leadership to address documentation gaps and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Works closely with billing, authorization, and AR teams to resolve documentation related billing holds.
- Maintains complete confidentiality with personnel, patient, and financial information to which you are privileged.
- Supports audits, ADRs, and payer documentation requests by ensuring timely and complete record submission.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience Required
- Minimum three to five years’ experience in medical records, physician orders management, or clinical documentation support within a home health or healthcare setting.
- Minimum two years of supervisory or people management experience required.

Additional Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of physician order requirements, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of home health revenue cycle workflows and payer documentation requirements.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, coaching, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, clinical leadership, physician offices, and revenue cycle partners.
