Medical Records Custodian

About the Role

Premier Surgery Center of Sarasota, a busy multispecialty ambulatory surgery center serving the Sarasota area since 2008, is seeking a Medical Records Custodian. We perform outpatient procedures in ENT, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Plastic Surgery, and Podiatry. Our mission is to treat each patient and every family as if they were our own.

Responsibilities

• Collect, maintain, and provide timely, accurate, and complete patient health information to authorized users.
• Prepare work area to meet high-paced demand efficiently.
• Adhere to hospital financial and admitting policies.
• Promote positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Perform insurance verification and collection processes.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of hospital or medical records experience required.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission Standards.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Professional appearance and communication (verbal and non-verbal).
