Responsibilities
- Assembles, analyzes, creates medical records according to guidelines with 98% accuracy.
- Completes request for Release of Information within established timelines.
- Assists in Transcription for clerical purposes as needed.
- Assists physicians with chart completion process.
- Filings and retrieves Medical Records using the terminal digit numbering system.
- Reconciles medical record discharge report with medical records picked up from units/departments.
- Retrieves discharged medical records (inpatient and outpatient) from departments within the Methodist Hospitals.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the medical record numbering system.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be professional, courteous, and have a positive attitude.
Education
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required.

- Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family, organizational and other medical information.
