About the role
As a Medical Records Clerk, you will process and send required physician and facility notifications while ensuring timely receipt and proper documentation. This role supports interdisciplinary coordination and ensures medical records processes meet all regulatory and agency standards.
Responsibilities
- Process and send required notifications to physicians, including missed visit reports, end-of-episode summaries, and discharge summaries—and follow up confirming timely receipt and proper documentation.
- Process and send required notifications to facilities—including discharge and transfer summaries—and ensure timely receipt and record completion.
- Ensure records are accurately maintained, well-organized, and readily accessible to support agency operations and compliance.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and effective communication skills when interacting with internal staff, physicians, and external partners.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.
- Resubmit faxes that fail in transmission and follow up as needed to ensure documentation is received and compliance standards are met.
- Process electronic workflow coordination notes and other administrative tasks within required time frames and quality standards.
- Assist with processing medical record requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations and agency protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support medical records and interdisciplinary coordination.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Minimum six months experience in a medical service setting (preferred)
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- General office procedure skills
- Good computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay
Up to $19.00 per hour (offer based on years of experience)
