About the Opportunity
The Medical Records and Customer Support Specialist plays a key role in the timely processing of medical record requests within a fast-paced environment. This position supports the organization by ensuring that requests are handled efficiently and in compliance with privacy regulations, contributing directly to the accessibility of health information for patients and providers.
Responsibilities
- Process medical record requests promptly, maintaining a 24-48 hour turnaround for assigned accounts
- Operate in a high volume, fast-paced setting
- Report directly to the Processing Manager
- Assist with overflow processing when needed due to volume or coverage gaps
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and protect the confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Monitor incoming record requests received through various channels
- Handle general office duties
- Respond to patient inquiries and requests via phone
- Provide feedback on request volumes and identify potential issues
