About the role
Greet patients and welcome them into the office. Assist with the check-in process by answering questions, updating insurance information, collecting co-pays, supplying additional paperwork as needed, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients that enter the office
- Handle patient check-in and check-out related tasks
- Answer multi-phone lines
- Work with multiple scheduling systems and schedules
- Check reports daily for cancelled or reschedule requests
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for patients in person and on the phone
- Reschedule appointments when changes occur in the schedule
- Treat patients in a friendly, respectful, professional manner
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum one (1) year of customer service, receptionist, medical office, or healthcare experience
- Previous scheduling and appointment coordination experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-provider healthcare environment
Pay
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Some candidates may not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will depend on factors including geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility, and education/training.
