Join Community Health Center of the North Country (CHCNC), where we provide comprehensive, equitable, and accessible high-quality health care and human services to individuals and families of all income levels and those with individualized needs. We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Ogdensburg health center, supporting primary care and pediatric services. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, solving problems, supporting providers, and creating an efficient, positive experience for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead practice operations: Oversee daily operations of the health center, ensuring efficient delivery of primary care and pediatric services.
  • Coordinate provider schedules and appointment access, including follow-up on canceled and no-show appointments.
  • Partner with providers, staff, and leadership to resolve operational challenges and improve the delivery of care.
  • Monitor productivity, patient satisfaction, and other performance metrics and support improvement initiatives.
  • Support effective use of the electronic medical record (EMR) and other practice technology.
  • Lead and develop staff: Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise administrative and clinical staff in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Set clear expectations, provide coaching and feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and address performance concerns as needed.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
  • Ensure providers and staff receive appropriate training and support.
  • Manage resources and patient experience: Oversee the practice budget, expenses, supplies, and other resources to support operational and financial sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, and enhance revenue.
  • Ensure patient concerns and complaints are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Promote accurate and compliant patient records and high standards of service.
  • Support quality and collaboration: Promote compliance with healthcare regulations, HIPAA, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in investigations of patient complaints, incidents, and other concerns and support appropriate follow-up and staff education.
  • Collaborate with other Practice Managers and organizational leaders to share resources, solve problems, and promote consistency across CHCNC.
  • Provide operational coverage for other practices as needed, including the Dental Department.
  • Represent CHCNC in appropriate community events and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, business, or a related field preferred.
  • At least three years of practice management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, revenue cycle, financial management, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with electronic health records and healthcare technology.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with providers, staff, patients, and community partners.
