Position Summary

Coordinate and supervise the clinical physics support in Radiation Oncology.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate all clinical physics activities for the institution.
• Calibrate Radiation Therapy machines for all energies and set ups used for accurate delivery of radiation dose to the patient.
• Perform acceptance testing of new equipment.
• Perform the quality assurance program set forth by the AAPM Task Group 40.
• Maintain records and surveys required by the NYSDOH and JCAHO reviews.
• Care for and maintain all periodic requirements regulated by Federal, State and other national protocol agencies.
• Develop new protocols and procedures.
• Maintain monthly and annual quality assurance and calibration records for radiation therapy machines.

Other Duties

• Collaborate with and provide coverage as needed with other radiation oncology Guthrie sites.
