Medical Physicist - Full Time - Days

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper operation of radiation producing equipment to ensure proper patient care.
• Perform periodic equipment checks and report results to administrative personnel.
• Establish proper operating conditions and techniques for new equipment.
• Assist in radiation safety functions.
• Perform dosimetry and treatment planning functions.
• Review and update patient charts for accuracy.
• Participate in mandatory inservices and continuing education programs.
• Provide appropriate care specific to the age of the patient.
• Perform patient procedures as required.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of a Medical Physics degree from an accredited school.
• Experience with linear accelerators, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and treatment planning.
• American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
• Iowa registration in Medical Physics (MP) in the field of Radiation Therapy.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
