Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects lab samples, performs venipunctures, and conducts ECGs to support diagnostic procedures
  • Takes and records vital signs, prepares patients for exams, and facilitates clinical procedures to ensure quality patient care
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and healthcare regulations
  • Supports reception and check-out areas by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating patient records
  • Ensures student immunization compliance by reviewing medical documentation and updating records accordingly
  • Contributes to a collaborative healthcare environment by coordinating with medical staff and optimizing operational efficiency

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of clinical procedures such as venipunctures, ECGs, and vital sign measurements
  • Knowledge of medical recordkeeping practices, confidentiality regulations, and healthcare documentation
  • Skills in collecting lab samples, performing diagnostic procedures, and preparing patients for exams
  • Skills in managing reception tasks, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient insurance information
  • Ability to maintain compliance with student immunization requirements and update records accordingly
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare staff to enhance patient care and operational efficiency

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Diploma/Certificate in Medical Assisting
  • 1 year of relevant experience

Job Level Overview

An intermediate level role with working foundational knowledge and skills to perform routine and occasionally non-routine tasks. Tasks may require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. May provide assistance to entry level staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a primary care or clinical office setting
  • Strong phlebotomy skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
