About The Opportunity
We are seeking a patient-focused Medical Office Assistant to join a busy Pediatric and Adult Medicine practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with healthcare administrative experience who is looking for long-term career growth within a respected healthcare organization. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and requests
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Verify insurance information and ensure accurate patient records
- Enter and update patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and team members
- Provide administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth office operations
- Maintain a high level of customer service while handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in a healthcare administrative, medical receptionist, medical secretary, scheduling, or front-desk role
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience working with EMR systems required
- EPIC experience strongly preferred
- Excellent computer and data entry skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a busy medical office environment
- Professional demeanor and dependable attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a pediatric practice
- Medical Assistant background with an interest in front-office/administrative responsibilities
- Insurance verification experience
- Strong phone etiquette and patient-service skills

Schedule & Location
This is a fully onsite Contract-to-Hire position based in Bel Air, MD. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM or 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.
Pay & Benefits
Pay rate: $20-$23/hour. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term career potential and benefits eligibility upon meeting eligibility requirements. Benefits available for this temporary role may include:
