About the Role

The Medical Materiel Specialist – Level II shall work independently at single-location sites and provide management oversight of other onsite contractor staff. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics activities with base organizations, units, and government agencies, ensuring the overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM (Expeditionary Contingency Medical Materiel), and managing general medical materiel and warehouse activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical oversight and inventory management of the 27 Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Response Enterprise to ensure precise SLEP/DMLSS statistics and communicate all SLEP-related updates to affected units, AFMED, and NGB/SGX.
  • Conduct monthly reviews and provide monthly reports to the COR of SLEP and DMLSS inventory records to ensure accuracy and program compliance.
  • Serve as the Logical SLEP coordinator.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Track and document the usage of medical materials.
  • Assist in the procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Provide management oversight of onsite contractor staff.
  • Coordinate logistics activities with base organizations, units, and government agencies.
  • Ensure overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM, including general medical materiel management and warehouse activities.
  • Serve as the vendor-contracted Air National Guard (ANG) Influenza Program Manager, responsible for logistical oversight and management of the influenza vaccination program.
  • Act as the focal point between the Surgeon General and ANG Medical Groups regarding the influenza program.
  • Perform program management and oversight of medical materiel operations.
  • Communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Collaborate in an integrated manner with stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic readiness reporting.
  • Travel 10% to 25% as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or higher, or eight years of medical logistics field experience with six years of specialized medical materiel management experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of medical logistics field experience with six years of specialized medical materiel management experience.
  • Specialized experience shall include general supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, assemblage management, warehousing, and operation of various materials handling equipment.
  • Specialized experience must be in a healthcare or healthcare support environment or setting.
  • Experience in using and running transactions in the MMIS (Medical Materiel Information System).
  • Advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer-sponsored visa.
  • Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.

Work Environment

The work environment is mainly in a warehouse or distribution center. The area may be noisy, dusty, or involve exposure to fumes from forklifts or other equipment. Temperature can vary — some warehouses are climate-controlled, while others may be hot in summer and cold in winter.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 25–50 lbs (sometimes up to 75 lbs with assistance).
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift (often 8–12 hours).
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching to pick up or place materials.
  • May involve using ladders, step stools, or order pickers to access shelves.
  • Repeated motion of scanning, sorting, or packaging of materials.

Pay

$19.48 to $24.34 per hour
