About the role
Performs and reports laboratory procedures to ensure accurate patient outcomes, utilizing laboratory skills across assigned shifts, with availability for overtime and callbacks. Responsible for specimen handling, prioritization, and quality control to minimize errors and support patient safety. Supports ongoing learning and completes assigned goals.
Responsibilities
- Receives, identifies, and organizes specimens for timely testing.
- Executes and reports laboratory procedures.
- Conducts quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and inventory management.
- Verifies positive patient identification to reduce errors and adverse outcomes.
- Supports continuous professional development.
- Completes assigned objectives efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of an accredited MLT program; no prior experience required.
- Preferred hospital laboratory experience.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Must obtain temporary state licensure or national certification; full licensure required within six months.
