Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist - Night Shift

Position Overview This role requires advanced technical expertise in laboratory testing, compliance, and problem-solving. The individual serves as a resource within the department, assisting with specimen collection, processing, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards such as CLIA, JCAHO, CAP, and OSHA. Key Responsibilities Perform accurate, timely testing, including startup, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment and procedures.Monitor and verify patient and quality control results, ensuring result validity and accuracy.Participate in quality assurance, process improvement, inventory management, and departmental projects.Support training, orientation, and competency assessments for staff, acting as a departmental resource and leader in absence.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing educational support and resolving issues.Handle specimen collection and processing, maintaining specimen integrity and proper identification. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or biological/chemical sciences, or equivalent experience meeting CLIA criteria.Certification (MLS or categorical) preferred; phlebotomy competency required where applicable.Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and computer systems.Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
