Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) FT (Florence, SC)
About the role
MUSC/Florence, SC is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join their phenomenal team full-time.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures.
- Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
- Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Performs quality control and assurance procedures.
- Records lab results in specified system.
- Follows all required HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
- ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW certification required. Must be certified within 1 year.
- One to two years’ experience working in an accredited laboratory preferred, but new grads will be considered.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
