About the role

MUSC/Florence, SC is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join their phenomenal team full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.
  • Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Performs quality control and assurance procedures.
  • Records lab results in specified system.
  • Follows all required HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
  • ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW certification required. Must be certified within 1 year.
  • One to two years’ experience working in an accredited laboratory preferred, but new grads will be considered.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Pay Rate Type: Hourly
  • Pay Grade: Health-22

  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
