Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Join Team Tidelands and help people live better lives through better health! As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases through routine medical laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology.
• Report test results following clinic protocols, alerting providers and/or clinical staff about abnormal results.
• Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, ensuring appropriate sampling, and maintaining accurate record keeping.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
• Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, and infection control.
• Serve as a backup to the Lab Manager as needed.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Medical Lab Technology or chemical, physical, or biological science.
• Clinical training in an accredited school of Medical Lab Technology.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of medical laboratory principles, standards, applications, and tests.
• Knowledge of medical laboratory safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies and regulations.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.
• Maintain patient, team member, and employer confidentiality.
• Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
• Display a positive attitude and be a positive agent for change.
• Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $XX.XX - $XXX.XX per hour based on qualifications and experience. Final compensation will be determined by the hiring manager.

Schedule

The Medical Laboratory Technician works a night shift, 8 hours per day.
