About the role

We are seeking Medical Laboratory Technician/Hematology to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document analytical procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines
  • Review routine data to confirm analytical procedures are performing as expected and results are within acceptable tolerances
  • Identify unusual results or performance issues and escalate to senior laboratory personnel
  • Prepare data analysis results for upload into the Laboratory Information Management System under the guidance of senior staff
  • Perform calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as assigned
  • Support quality investigations, deviations, procedural updates, and implementation of laboratory changes
  • Guide entry-level staff on routine procedures and support onboarding and hands-on training activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some College of American Pathologists and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments laboratory locations may require a Bachelor of Science in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology
  • 6 months experience in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards, such as Good Laboratory Practices
  • Proficiency with laboratory techniques, automation or specialized laboratory equipment, and Laboratory Information Management System supported workflows

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple laboratory tasks simultaneously
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and communicate clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, standard precautions, and hazardous chemical handling
  • Ability to perform routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations, including averages, means, standard deviations, and quality control metrics
