Job Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Medical Laboratory Technician:
    • Requires an Associates degree in Laboratory Science.
    • Possesses a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved HHS agency.
    • If registry eligible, must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
    • If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
    • Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
    • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist:
    • Requires a Bachelors degree in laboratory or biological sciences.
    • Possesses a national certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved HHS agency.
    • If registry eligible, must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
    • If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
    • Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications.
    • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
