Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician

About the role

Seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician to perform and report various analyses from multiple specimen sources in a clinical laboratory setting. Responsibilities include managing specimens, ensuring proper identification, utilizing accessioning procedures, troubleshooting instruments, performing quality control, and maintaining supplies. The role requires efficient multitasking, timely task completion, and adherence to reporting protocols using multiple computer applications. The individual may assist in training new employees and must participate in ongoing education to maintain competency.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses and generate reports from various specimens
• Ensure specimen integrity and proper processing
• Maintain laboratory instruments and troubleshoot issues
• Replenish supplies and follow safety and quality protocols
• Assist in training staff and participate in educational activities

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or an Associate Degree with certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program or relevant certification
• Experience in specimen handling, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and follow established procedures
• Commitment to patient care, productivity, and continuous learning
• Successful completion of competency exams
