Medical Laboratory Scientist, PRN, Baptist Nassau

About the role

Baptist Health is a locally governed, faith-based, not-for-profit health system in Jacksonville, Florida. They provide comprehensive care through multiple locations and six hospitals, including Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baptist Heart Hospital, Baptist Neurological Institute, and Wolfson Children's Hospital. This role is a PRN opportunity at Baptist Medical Center Nassau.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Supervise by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
• Serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Instruct new employees and students.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida before hire.
• At least one year of working experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Associate's Degree Required.
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred.
• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred.
• Licensed Medical Technologist Required.
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required.

Qualifications

• Experience: Less than 1 year Medical Technologist Experience.

Skills

• Technical proficiency in laboratory areas.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to supervise and train others.

Night shift rotating schedule, with a smaller team of two other Medical Technologists. Opportunity to rotate within different areas of the lab and sharpen skills within each specialty.
