Medical Laboratory Assistant II, PRN, Baptist Nassau

Responsibilities
- Performing the duties of a phlebotomist in an outpatient laboratory setting.
- Utilizing computer systems in the processing of laboratory specimens.
- Retrieving specimens from pneumatic tube systems and processing specimens according to their type.
- Distributing specimens to various areas within the laboratory.
- Cooking specimen pick-ups for referral testing.
- Preparing specimen transfer lists and packaging specimens in accordance with laboratory policies for transport.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- An associates degree is preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
- Experience with specimen processing is preferred.
Qualifications
- Great customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to work onsite with the Medical Director, assisting in Anatomic Pathology of specimens for Bronchoscopies, EBUS, Needle Aspirates, and other related AP process procedures.
- Assisting in Outpatient phlebotomy.
