Medical Laboratory Scientist - Per Diem Variable
About the role
The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. They perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program or
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
- Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology or
- National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology or
- National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology or
- National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists or
- National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists.
- 1 year experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a department in the laboratory or exceeds principal duties and functions in the MLS I job description.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years Clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program or
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
