About the role
The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. This role performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory sciences
- Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or
- National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or
- National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or
- National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists, or
- National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists, or
- 3 years in Clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory sciences
- Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or
- National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or
- National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or
- National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists, or
- National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a department in the laboratory or exceeds principal duties and functions in the MLS I job description
