About the role
The Medical Laboratory Tech and Medical Laboratory Scientist at McLeod Health perform critical roles in analyzing biological samples and providing precise laboratory test results.
Responsibilities
- Analyze biological samples and provide accurate laboratory test results.
- Evaluate specimen validity and perform routine and pre-routine maintenance.
- Train and document proficiency of assigned employees/students as directed.
- Coordinate daily technical activities and ensure tests are complete and accurate in a timely manner.
- Document incoming requests for blood draws and follow through on collection.
- Maintain supplies and respond to incoming phone calls.
- Adhere to Service Excellence standards of Courtesy, Privacy, Respect, Dignity, and Responsiveness/Customer Waiting.
Requirements
- Qualified to perform moderate and highly complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88.
- Must obtain MLT/MLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- A degree in medical laboratory technology is required (Associate's degree or bachelor's degree).
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have the ability to perform moderate and highly complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88 and obtain MLT/MLS certification within 6 months of hire. An Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology is required.
