Medical Assistant

Serving Patients

• Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment.
• Recording medical history and confirming the purpose of the visit.
• Ensuring proper documentation is obtained prior to preparing the patient for treatment.
• Prepares patients for examination.
• Helps providers examine and treat patients.

Hands-On Duties

• Many hands-on elements such as blood draws, injections, wound care, and assisting during procedures are a requirement for this position.

Compliance and Safety

• Maintain accurate electronic charts in EHR.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and safe OSHA practices.

Supporting Providers

• Under provider direction, authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Collecting, documenting, and delivering lab specimens.
