Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews and accurately document medical histories.
  • Perform vital sign assessments, specimen collection, and health evaluations.
  • Perform and assist with various clinical procedures, including but not limited to: DOT, Basic, and Respirator Examinations, Pulmonary Function Tests, and Electrocardiograms (EKGs), Venipuncture, vaccinations, and immunizations, Wound care, dressing, splinting, and suturing assistance, Audiovisual testing.
  • Provide laboratory services, including phlebotomy, specimen handling, and quality control.
  • Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations in accordance with company protocols.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and maintain clean, organized treatment areas.
  • Accurately input patient data and medical histories into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Cook up hospital admissions and laboratory services when necessary.
  • Triage patients based on urgency and appointment schedules, managing 3-4 patients per hour.
  • Deliver patient-centered care from arrival to departure, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Ensure the clinic is fully stocked with necessary supplies and exam rooms are well-prepared.
  • Offer front office support as needed through cross-training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent work experience.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification from recognized program (American Red Cross, etc.) required or completed within first 60 days of employment.
  • Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in patient management software.
  • Demonstrated social perceptiveness and a service-oriented attitude.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
