Responsibilities

  • Performs chemical, bacteriological, serological and microscopic procedures for which competency has been verified.
  • Maintains in a timely manner, records of procedure performance, patient results, and quality control.
  • Follows defined protocol for investigating out-of-control runs and implements necessary remedial action.
  • Reviews relevant laboratory reports for extraordinary results and clerical errors before they are reported to the patient's medical record.
  • Maintains equipment in accordance with defined policies and protocols and logs preventive and remedial maintenance of equipment.
  • Continuously helps to monitor job performance of peers or other employees.
  • Performs secretarial, phlebotomy and specimen reception duties.

Requirements

  • A current state MLT ASCP, AMT or NCA license.
  • An associate's degree in Applied Science or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited college.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • ASLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a current state MLT ASCP, AMT or NCA license and possess an associate's degree in Applied Science or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited college. Additional requirements include: Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. One year of experience preferred ASLS certification preferred.

Skills

Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
