About the Role
Provide accurate spoken language interpretation services in person or other modalities as assigned. Requires advanced proficiency in English and target language, plus knowledge of medical vocabulary to ensure linguistically appropriate care. This is a part-time position with benefits.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Fluent in designated language and English
- Minimum of two (2) years experience interpreting (in a medical/healthcare setting)
- Current knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Certified Medical Interpreter by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), or equivalent state or national medical certification such as Commission for Health Care Interpreters (CCHI) or National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least two (2) years Interpreting in a medical setting
- Experience with simultaneous interpretation and/or sight translation
- Advanced medical terminology
Pay
$29.16 - $43.73 per hour. Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
