Medical Insurance Collections Specialist (REMOTE)

About the role

As a Collections Specialist at Aveanna, you'll play a vital role in our Revenue Cycle department, ensuring invoices sent to payers are processed and settled efficiently. You will manage accounts, research denials, and convert them with compassion and efficiency while navigating complex payer rules and meeting daily targets. Your work directly supports our ability to deliver compassionate, committed care for medically fragile patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of payers to ensure collections, aging, and denials are processed in a timely fashion.
• Work towards high-volume performance metrics, processing at least 5 claims per hour.
• Maintain high attention to detail to assist with billing efforts, eliminate denials, and keep payer rules up to date.
• Perform basic math and accounting tasks to support month-end reconciliations and other departments.
• Meet daily, monthly, and quarterly collection goals set by management.
• Adhere to strict internal and external compliance and confidentiality standards.
• Remain calm, professional, and efficient in a high call-volume environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in Medical Insurance Collections (healthcare, medical office, or customer service environment).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• High-school diploma or GED.
• Ability to maintain a quiet, dedicated workspace free of background noise and ongoing distractions.
• Ability to participate in virtual meetings with a professional, camera-ready presence.
• Strong time-management skills, accountability, and self-direction.
• Reliable, high-speed internet connection.

Pay

$19.00 per hour (starting pay).
