Medical/Hralthcare Lab In-Charge
Job Responsibilities
Manage and prioritize STAT (emergency) test requests efficiently.
Supervise lab technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff.
Train and guide staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and new techniques.
Maintain strict quality standards (Internal and External QC/QA).
Follow national healthcare regulations, ISO standards, and safety rules.
Handle internal and external audits, and implement corrective actions.
Verify, cross-check, and approve lab reports before final delivery.
Maintain patient records, test logs, and ensure data confidentiality.
Manage and oversee the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Coordinate effectively with doctors, hospital management, and referral labs.
Monitor lab supplies, reagents, and order consumables in a timely manner.
Ensure proper storage guidelines (especially for temperature-sensitive items).
Minimize reagent wastage and assist management in controlling lab operational costs.
Handle equipment maintenance and schedule preventive repairs with vendors.
Ensure strict infection control, bio-safety, and proper biomedical waste disposal.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free lab environment.
Address patient queries and resolve any complaints regarding lab services or reports.
