Responsibilities
- Sets and implements policies and procedures for audit and process improvement projects.
- Identifies and corrects deviations from expected quality control results.
- Promotes proper test performance and result verification.
- Maintains specimen management to meet quality and time standards.
- Removes barriers to compliance with all requirements.
- Researches and addresses technical and non-technical deficiencies in regulatory/accreditation inspections.
- Adapts and implements new testing methodologies, processes, and technologies.
- Develops and coordinates training materials and resources.
- Evaluates personnel competency and resolves proficiency testing concerns.
- Communicates and supports staff in addressing regulatory/accreditation changes and issues.
- Aligns cross-functional teams to evaluate and improve quality management systems.
- Supervises and coordinates daily activities of designated work team or unit.
- Ensures compliance and accreditation by following policies and work instructions.
- Manages service quality through evaluation and standardization of technical and non-technical services and processes.
- Implements new testing methodologies, processes, and technology to improve service, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinates and manages onsite facilities issues with internal and external vendors.
- Cultivates teamwork and a progressive work environment.
- Schedules personnel during varying workloads.
- Oversees inventory and maintenance systems, oversees supplies inventory, and estimates usage and costs.
- Coordinates ongoing technical and non-technical project management, including local, regional, and national initiatives, and status reports.
- Develops and recommends corrective actions, preventive actions, and process improvements based on internal and external quality audits.
- Initiates investigations into proficiency testing concerns.
- Identifies and resolves problems related to pre-analytical, analytical, or post-analytical testing.
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports in a healthcare related field.
- Bachelor's degree in medical lab science or equivalent, or health care related field AND minimum three (3) years of experience in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or health care related field OR Minimum six (6) years of experience in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or health care related field.
- Technical Supervisor Certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis.
- Medical Technologist Certification.
