About the role
As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the front office operations of Hanger's Patient Care Centers. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and administering various tasks, ensuring high-quality customer service, maintaining accurate patient records, and assisting with scheduling and follow-ups.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest level of customer service to patients, colleagues, and referral sources.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient files, adhering to Hanger's policies and regulations.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and security.
- Aid in patient follow-up as needed.
- Contribute to quality assurance efforts to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Enter patient demographics and insurance verifications as required.
- Manage multiple phone lines efficiently.
- Document patient interactions clearly, concisely, and accurately.
- File patient charts and other documents according to established guidelines.
- Coordinate practitioner schedules to ensure optimal coverage of appointments and calls.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of customer service, administrative, or related experience preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to type at a rate of 30 words per minute with accuracy.
- Understanding of medical terminology and front office procedures.
- Valid driver's license and adherence to Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
