About the role

Vituity is seeking an Emergency Medicine Medical Director to join its team in Columbus, GA. The position offers autonomy, local control, and a national system of support, allowing you to focus on patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and champion Vituity’s purpose, mission, vision, values, culture of brilliance, and strategy.
  • Assure compliance with all Vituity requirements and policies.
  • Monitor healthcare and economic trends, assess their impact, and strategize a comprehensive annual practice management plan.
  • Select and align the responsibilities of the administrative management team to achieve practice goals.
  • Maintain mastery of Vituity policies and fiduciary obligations.
  • Develop expertise in the yearly budget, financial performance measures, and billing and reimbursement issues.
  • Improve patient census and billing practice statistics to optimize reimbursement.
  • Execute efficient recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for new providers.
  • Evaluate the performance of physicians and provide learning and development opportunities.
  • Counsel, suspend, or remove staff as necessary.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and ensure practice representation.
  • Maintain productive relationships with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members.
  • Ensure the practice is appropriately represented and demonstrates value through leadership roles.

Requirements

  • Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency through an accredited residency program.
  • Maintenance of membership and privileges on Hospital’s medical staff.
  • Five (5) years or more experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in an academic setting with current residents preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

Estimated annual base compensation of $275,000 – $900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience. Compensation for part-time and per diem roles is prorated based on clinical hours worked. In addition, Vituity physicians participate in our partnership model from day one, which includes profit distributions, equity ownership, and K-1 tax advantages. Total compensation including partnership income varies by site and may significantly exceed the range shown.
