Medical Director - Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Bennington, VT
About the Role
Dartmouth Health's Department of Psychiatry seeks a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of a new adolescent inpatient psychiatry program at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. This role includes dedicated time for administrative responsibilities as well as direct clinical care on the unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide state-of-the-art acute psychiatric and substance-related disorder care for adolescents aged 12–17
- Lead the clinical service as Medical Director of the adolescent inpatient psychiatry program
- Dedicate time to administrative responsibilities in addition to direct clinical care
- Work within an experienced team of psychiatric nurse practitioners, social workers, therapists, psychiatrists, and medical providers
Requirements
- Board certified (or eligible) in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry
- Experience leading a clinical service in psychiatry
- Skilled clinician with a strong interest in working in an inpatient setting
- Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
- Post-graduate training in a residency program
- Current New Hampshire Medical License
- Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
- Active hospital staff membership
Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will have experience leading a clinical service in psychiatry and be skilled clinicians with a strong interest in working in an inpatient setting
- Opportunities to teach in didactic or other supervisory settings in the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship or psychiatry residency at Dartmouth are available
- Academic rank at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be commensurate with experience
