Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), performs Medical Assistant specific tasks, and assesses and educates patients.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Training in specialty‑specific assisting desired
• Experience: One year of experience in a clinical setting
• Certification & Licensures: BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) – AHA approved; New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation

Qualifications

• Good communication skills
• Competent to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process
• Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development
• Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply, based on age of the patient served
• FLSA Classification: Non‑exempt
• Physical Demands: 17 A Medical Technician/Other Technicians/Assistants
