About the role

This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, efficient patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Working under the supervision of the Clinical Operations Manager and a licensed provider, you will support both administrative and clinical functions to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and obtaining/recording vital signs and medical histories
  • Assisting with procedures and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Fitting and dispensing patients with durable medical equipment
  • Checking in patients and verifying insurance eligibility
  • Covering other medical assistants within the practice as needed
  • Managing cash transactions and reconciling cash drawer balances with computer system reports
  • Completing tasks in a timely manner while ensuring high-quality results

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a surgical specialty clinic or CCMA/CMAC certification
  • Strong foundation in computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook)
  • Computer literacy and comfort using various office machines and filing systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail, conscientiousness, and follow-through
  • Excellent telephone communication skills for professional interactions with patients and staff
  • Solid understanding of mathematical concepts, including basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Experience with front desk responsibilities (e.g., eligibility verification, patient check-in) preferred but not required
  • Ability to adjust to changing deadlines and handle emergency situations or shifting priorities

Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, and minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) preferred

Schedule

The position requires 40 hours per week, generally distributed across 4 to 5 in-office workdays. Scheduling may vary week to week to accommodate operational demands and approved time off. Candidates must be available to work weekends as needed to support clinic operations.

Pay

Pay range: $23.00 to $27.96 USD per hour, based on years of applicable experience.
