What We Are Looking For
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and works well in a team. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
- Administers medications according to policy and provider direction, adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs blood draws and urine collection as directed by the provider.
- Conducts splinting and casting as needed.
- Performs various types of physicals, such as sports physicals.
- Handles ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration.
- Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of any unusual patient occurrences, including medication events, and documents them on an incident report.
- Notifies the Clinic Manager of any patient or employee safety concerns.
- Follows laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
- Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Performs other related duties as assigned or described by company policy.
- Supports the Front Office Reception as needed, performing tasks such as keeping patients informed of wait times, monitoring patient flow, processing discharges, and collecting payments.
Essential Education, Experience & Skills
- Arizona: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam through AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
- Other states: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam through AAMA, AMT, or NHA. Alternatively, one year of supervised work experience as a Medical Assistant after completing the training program.
