What We Are Looking For
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and works well in a team. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other direct patient care tasks under direct supervision.
- Administers medications according to policy and provider direction while adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs blood draws and urine collection for various tests, including employer drug screens.
- Conducts splinting and casting as needed.
- Performs various types of physicals, such as sports physicals.
- Performs ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration.
- Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of any unusual patient occurrences, including medication events, and documents on incident reports.
- Notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns immediately.
- Fulfills other related duties as directed by company policy or guidelines.
- Supports the front office by keeping patients informed of wait times, monitoring patient flow, processing discharges, and preparing charges, collecting payment, obtaining signatures, and issuing receipts.

Essential Education, Experience, and Skills
- Arizona: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam administered by AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
- Other states: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and passed a national certification exam administered by AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
- OR: Unapproved (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program; at least one year of employment as a Medical Assistant after program completion; or at least 2000 hours of supervised work experience as a Medical Assistant under a provider or physician group.
