What We Are Looking For
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and works well in a team. Candidates should be customer-friendly and passionate about providing excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Assists providers with exams, including taking patient vitals and performing other direct patient care tasks under supervision.
- Administers medications according to policy and provider direction, adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs blood draws and urine collections as directed by the provider.
- Carries out splinting and casting procedures.
- Conducts various types of physicals, such as sports physicals.
- Performs ear lavages, wound care, and oxygen administration.
- Notifies the on-duty provider promptly of any unusual patient occurrences, documenting incidents on an incident report.
- Notifies the Clinic Manager of any patient or employee safety concerns.
- Fulfills other related duties as outlined by company policy or as assigned.

Essential Education, Experience & Skills
- Arizona: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and National Certification through AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
- All Other States: High school diploma or equivalent; completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program; and National Certification through AAMA, AMT, or NHA.
- OR: Unapproved (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND at least one year of employment as a Medical Assistant after program completion.
- OR: Unapproved Medical Assistant training program AND at least 2000 hours of supervised work experience under a Provider or Physician Group.
