About the Role
The Medical Assistant Supervisor oversees daily activities of the medical assistant team, ensuring efficient patient flow, quality care, and smooth operations within a healthcare facility. They coordinate appointment scheduling, manage workflows, and serve as a communication link between staff, providers, and patients. The supervisor provides training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to uphold clinical and administrative standards, contributing to patient satisfaction and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate medical assistant activities to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
- Manage appointment scheduling and workflow processes.
- Train, guide, and evaluate staff to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and professional development.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative teams to address operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Perform Medical Assisting duties when necessary.
Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program or equivalent (LPN, RN, EMT).
- At least 3 years of medical assistant experience in a clinical setting.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling systems and EHR.
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential.
- Higher education in health sciences.
