About the role

The Medical Assistant is an unlicensed healthcare professional who performs routine technical services within the medical practice settings under the supervision of the physicians and medical staff. This role is also responsible for supporting the front and back office clinic operations. This is a Per Diem position working 2 shifts per pay period. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, so you must be able to work 2 weekday shifts during this time frame.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine technical services within the medical practice settings under physician supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in front and back office pediatric medical office/clinic setting.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a vocational school having successfully completed requirements for Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for safe and effective job performance.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Work Environment & Physical Activity

  • High energy level with functional demand rated as medium.
  • Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
  • Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs (e.g., patients on bed, stretcher).
  • Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs (e.g., patient).
  • Physical activities include: bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pinching/fine motor activities, push/pull, reaching forward, reaching overhead, sitting, squat/kneel/crawl, standing, talking or hearing, twisting, walking, wrist position deviation.
  • Lifting requirements:
    • Lifting (Floor to waist level) – Constant (67% or more), Frequent (36-66%), Occasional (0-35%).
    • Lifting (Waist level and above) – Constant (67% or more), Frequent (36-66%), Occasional (0-35%).
  • Sensory requirements: color discrimination, depth perception, far vision, hearing, near vision.
  • Environmental exposures: airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust particulate matter, extreme noise levels, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces or elevations.

Pay

Pay Range: Minimum $23.00, Midpoint $23.00, Maximum $24.00. Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Schedule

Per Diem position working 2 shifts per pay period. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
