Medical Assistant Primary Care AHN/Optum - Peru, IN

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilizing equipment
• Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKG's
• Administer injections and collect specimens
• Document patient care using NextGen electronic medical record software
• Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork
• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor, in-office procedures

Required Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalent
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA), or willingness to obtain certification within 9 months of start date
• EMR/EHR experience preferred
• Experience with Epic medical records software preferred
• Experience with medical front office and back-office duties including vitals, injections, administering medications, referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance verifications
• One year of MA experience preferred
• Graduated from an accredited MA program
• CPR certified

Pay

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:00pm / No evenings, weekends, or holidays!
