Medical Assistant/ LPN Primary Care - AHN/Optum Avon, IN

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure the well-being of patients while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff.
• Based in one of our location practices, assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation, etc.
• Maintain clinical supplies and equipment and ensure proper storage of biohazards.
• Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
• Absorb minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing.
• Absorb allergy injections, mixing of allergy vials and allergy testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Valid Indiana LPN license
• Current CPR Certification
• 1+ years of Licensed Practical Nurse experience with electronic medical records software
• CPR certification for MA's
• Experience performing medical back office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications
• Experience performing medical front office tasks including scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills and referrals

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) or willing to attain that certification within 9 months of employment

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
