Medical Assistant Primary Care AHN/Optum Avon, IN
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm; No evenings, weekends, or holidays!
- Specialty: Family Practice
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment & instruments
- Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs
- Document patient care using electronic medical record software
- Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations
- Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing
- Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals and answer patient calls as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school education or GED equivalent
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
- EMR/EHR experience preferred
- Experience with Epic medical records software preferred
- Experience with medical front office and back-office duties including vitals, injections, administering medications, referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance verifications preferred
- One year of MA experience preferred
- Graduated from an accredited MA program preferred
- CPR Certified preferred
Preferred Qualifications

Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 - $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
