About the Role
Our team provides comprehensive care for individuals seeking primary care and mental health services. The Medical Assistant will support the healthcare team by performing various duties such as preparing patients for examinations, assisting physicians during exams, coordinating client information, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for examinations and takes medical histories
- Aids physicians during examinations
- Explains medical procedures to patients
- Collaborates with behavioral health and specialty care offices
- Follows up on pharmacy, client, staff, and party communications
- Answers phones, schedules appointments, greets patients, and creates correspondence
- Assumes general clerical duties within the office
- Follows up on client requests and coordinates responses
- Updates patient files, schedules medical tests, and arranges for hospital admissions
- Follows up on missed medical appointments
- Sets up appropriate documentation and applications
- Completes progress notes and medical intake paperwork
Requirements
Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred, as is familiarity with NextGen electronic health record system. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, offering additional language differential pay.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Valid Arizona Medical Assistant license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Pay and Schedule
The starting salary range for this position is $17-$21+/hour, depending on years of experience. The schedule is full-time: 40 hours/week.
