Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) - Per Diem - Medical Group Nephrology

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

About the Role

This is a per diem (as needed) position located in Evanston, IL, with hours from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM as needed.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height, and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required
• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• One year of work experience required; previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
• On-the-job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience
