About the role

Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant at the Lakeview Clinic in Chicago, IL. Full‑time position (40 hours per week) with rotating 8‑hour shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday. Some travel to other locations may be required, necessitating flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co‑payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience required; graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) preferred but not required.
• Experience: One year of work experience required; previous experience working in a medical office or related field preferred. On‑the‑job training provided for those without prior medical assistant training or experience.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $19.89 – $28.84. The exact rate is based on a candidate’s expertise, years of experience and other factors.
