About the role
This position involves performing patient care duties within a clinical setting under the supervision of an RN or physician/provider.
Responsibilities
- Documenting medical records
- Administering medications and treatments
- Obtaining medical histories
- Measuring vital signs
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or graduation from an accredited EMT program with a current EMT license
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross (online certification not accepted)
- OSHA training
- Preferred: One year of medical assistant experience or LPN license in a clinic
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with tact and diplomacy
- Ability to share patient education effectively
- Capacity to learn and retain patient care procedures
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks
- Calmness in stressful situations
- Experience with electronic medical records (preferably Epic)
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to learn Epic electronic medical record system
