Position Highlights

Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant
Location: Skokie, IL
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am-5:30pm, with rotating Saturdays 7:30am-12:00pm every 5 weeks
Required Travel: This role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needs (Evanston and Glenbrook)

What You Will Do

  • Answer phones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Complete patient registration
  • Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
  • Check in and check out patient
  • Verify insurances
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam room
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What You Will Need

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
  • Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
  • Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience
