Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Collects and reviews patient histories and performs routine laboratory procedures.
- Prepares specimens for laboratory testing and communicates test results to both the provider and the patient.
- Provides patient education materials and maintains accurate records of patient care activities.
- Maintains medical equipment and orders necessary clinical supplies.
- Enters and updates patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervisors.
Requirements
- Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six months of employment or proof of active license/certification.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification.
- Paramedic certification.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of medical assistant experience preferred.
Skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
